Bleeding Control

The ‘3-Minute’ Gauzes…Are you carrying the best?
Clinical:
Celox™ Gauze, designed and intended
for the control of severe bleeding, offers numerous
Clinical, Tactical, and Economical advantages over other
‘3-Minute’ hemostatic dressings such as Combat Gauze™,
Combat Gauze™ XL, and ChitoGauze™.
When placed directly into a bleeding wound and
subjected to pressure
Celox™ Gauze absorbs blood and
forms a muco-adhesive gel that seals the wound to stop
the flow of blood.
Unlike some other hemostatic agents, Celox™ does
NOT use or release non-degrading, procoagulant
minerals such as kaolin, which will remain in the body
indefinitely unless completely removed. Instead, Celox™
utilizes chitosan, a compound of glucosamine, a sugar
that is normally found in the body.
In a recent Navy Study, Celox™ Gauze clearly and
consistently outperformed competitors in several
areas relevant to a Combat or Tactical Medic. They
include: Immediate Hemostasis (defined as a 3 minute
compression period), Post-Application Blood Loss, and most notably,
Survival. These features present initial and ‘downstream’
benefits for both the casualty and the medic making Celox™ Gauze
the preferred choice of the ‘3-Minute’ Gauzes.

TACTICAL HEMOSTASIS… CELOX RAPID

ONE MINUTE MATTERS

Nowhere does Stop Bleeding, Save Lives mean more than within the ‘Platinum Ten.’

‘Hemostasis Under Fire’ | As enemy tactics have evolved, so too have the demands to provide care under increasingly chaotic and life threatening conditions. Celox RAPID defines Tactical Hemostasis and bridges the significant capability gap between emerging enemy tactics and the current standard of treatment for hemorrhage control.

Medic Force Multiplier | You know if you’ve been there: the medical and downstream tactical implications of multiple-casualty engagements demand high-speed, easy- to-use ‘Tactical Hemostatic’ products.

With Rapid Packing and Minimal Compression,
Celox RAPID can reduce hemostasis to a minute or less expanding the medics’ capabilities during ‘platinum’ time to care for other wounds or casualties.

A 5’ Celox RAPID packs faster, requires minimal to no additional post-application compression, reduces blood loss, and provides greater stability in evacuation compared to competitive products.

Independent in vivo testing showed 100 % success in achieving hemostasis and reduced blood loss compared to other treatments*.

Celox RAPID has also been tested in a model of casualty evacuation, achieving 100 % successful transport without re-bleeding*.

Celox-A

ACCELERATED | The first high-
speed hemostatic delivery system
for gunshot, blast, or stab wounds. The applicator was designed to give the caregiver
a simple and effective tool to apply Celox to the source of severely bleeding wounds. The Celox-A Applicator has been integrated into thousands of IFAKs to create a comprehensive ‘bleeder’ kit for shrapnel, IED, gunshot, and knife wounds.

When placed directly into a bleeding wound and subjected to pressure CELOX absorbs blood and forms an adhesive gel that seals the wound to stop the flow of blood. Celox has repeatedly and reliably demonstrated the ability to stop arterial bleeding in independent US Navy severe bleeding tests(1).

In a published 2011 comparison(2), Celox-A outperformed Combat Gauze in a lethal penetrating trauma model in both Initial

Hemostasis and Survival.

Celox-Granules

Celox can stop even potentially lethal bleeding fast. It is easy to use (just pour, pack and apply pressure), very safe (tested to class 3 CE Mark standards) and extremely effective.

When mixed with blood, Celox forms a robust gel-like clot in 30 seconds. It works independently of the body’s normal clotting processes. Celox’s clotting ability has been proven to work in the cold (hypothermia) or in the presence of common anti-coagulants such as warfarin. It generates no heat and will not burn the casualty or care giver.

In pre-clinical tests by the US Navy, Celox was the only product to give 100% survival. It gave a strong stable MAP (mean arterial blood pressure) and was also the only product to give robust clotting with no rebleeding*.

Celox’s safety has been tested to the intense class 3 CE mark standards. Celox is made with chitosan. Chitosan is made up of compounds of glucosamine, a sugar that is normally found in the body.

Celox does NOT use non-degrading procoagulant minerals or nano particles such as smectite or kaolin, which will remain

in the body indefinitely unless completely removed.

This is a great video showing the difference between QuikClot gauze and Celox gauze.  The QuikClot requires surgical removal, which often requires removing additional tissue in the wound. (information from surgeons!) Which would you want used on your wound?
